Styling a Coffee Table

A beautifully styled coffee table is the centerpiece to a home. It can pull a room together by providing a place for friends and family to gather. When styling a coffee table, it is important to keep in mind color, texture, and pattern. Here are some excellent examples of appealing coffee tables...

Here are five staple items when styling...

1. Good Reads- books are a great way to entertain
2. Candlelight- brings a relaxing vibe and brings in pleasant aroma
3. Decorative Accents- add interest, and provide added decor and appeal
4. Floral- brings in color and an outdoorsy feel
5. Tray- organizes all items above!

Here are a few more styling tips...

Enjoy!

Southern Street Style

Mom and I are taking a girls trip to Charleston on Friday and I could not be more excited. We are staying at a darling Bed & Breakfast right over King Street. Shopping, good eats, fancy cocktails and rooftop bars are in the plans. I am thrilled to spend our days just wandering and trying to new things in new places. I am also looking forward to the street style you see in Charleston, it's a place for classic style that gives a relaxed vibe .

What are your favorite places to visit in Charleston?? Suggestions would be great!

C.Wonder Cigarette

While in NYC in March, I stumbled upon a fabulous store in Soho. I was immediately attracted to the bright colors and fun feel, as well as the look their clothing gave off. It turns out the store is no other than Tory Burch's ex-husband's...taking a stab at the ol' ex-wife with some extremely similar designs at an extremely affordable price. Turns out their baby mama drama is benefiting me, because I am obsessed with C. Wonder

It just so happens that C. Wonder is having an out-of-this-world sale...50% off already reduced items. Yeah, you heard me. I was so excited that they still have some sizes left. I have been shopping for more clothing for teaching and I found many pieces that are essential for my professional wardrobe. I was especially excited to find the classic cigarette pant for $22.00, marked down from $98.00.

The cigarette pant is a timeless look that is professional, yet trendy. I mean at that price, I obviously had to get more than one pair. I plan on pairing these camel pants with a tailored blouse, skinny belt and flats for work and maybe a navy stripe top, fedora hat and gold sandals for fun.

Make sure you visit C. Wonder and enter the code "HOTHOTHOT" for an extra 50% off sale!

Wedge Envy

I always envy a girl rocking a cute pair of wedges and it seems with summer, my wedge envy has hit a hiatus. As if I don't already have enough wedges and aren't already tall enough, I am almost always,  always, on the look out for another pair to add to my collection and my height.  I just recently purchased the ones on the bottom left and they are so cute paired with pastel jeans! These are some of my favorites. They're versatile, fun and wont break your budget...

High Waisted

One of my favorite summer go-to outfits, is a pair of high waisted shorts, a cool top, fun jewelry and paired with some neutral wedges. High Waisted shorts are a cool outfit for a hot summer day, are flattering on all figures and can elongate your look. These high waisted shorts are just darling, I want every pair. And the kicker---they're all between $16- $40!

Brunch Beverages

We all know I am a huge fan of brunch...I'm pretty sure I have blogged about it multiple times. There is nothing better than waking up late on a Sunday, having brunch, and then just relaxing before the work week begins. Sometimes, a little beverage can help you sneak your way into total relaxation mode- if you know what I mean. Thanks to the amazing Mrs. Lilien's styling, here are some excellent brunch beverages...

You can purchase Mrs. Lilien's cocktail swatchbook, here!

Enjoy and indulge!

I'm back!

I have taken a little time away from blogging to focus on summer school but now that it is over, I am happy to say, I am back!  I had such an amazing July 4th yesterday with friends and was overwhelmed with many requests to blog about the bathing suit I was wearing. (Made me so happy to hear people want to read about it! So thanks so much for the love!)

I celebrated my patriotism with a monogrammed navy top from Marley-Lilly and a nautical red, white, and blue bottom that I bought years ago, (however, you can find a similar one made by Lilly Pulitzer).

I spent my 4th on Masonboro Island, a small island at the the inlet at Wrightsville Beach, where most people gather around here to celebrate. Its always a good time! After a long day of celebrations, I changed into some more patriotic attire (just couldn't get enough), then some friends and I grilled out and enjoyed some fireworks, a perfect ending to a rather crazy day!

Thank you so much for all the love, while I was away! Hope y'all had an amazing 4th of July!
