Loving Lilly

I went to the Lilly store today, knowing I was on the lookout for scalloped shorts. I have been wanting scalloped shorts for a long time so I was sure that I would be purchasing the Buttercup Short in the print Mariposa...

However, the new Summer Collection hit the shelves today and I fell in love with the new Summer print, "You Gotta Regatta".

This print does not come in the scalloped short so I just got the regular ones, because I had to have this print. They are perfect for warm weather and have so many colors, they can be worn with anything! Here are some more NEW Summer Prints Lilly Pulitzer has come out with that I am just loving...

Look at the Buoys! Ahh, Lilly has yet to disappoint.

Life Saver

Hope you all had a fabulous weekend! I love products. Hair products, makeup, skincare, nail products...you name it. I want to fill you guys in on what I consider my absolute-cant-live-without product. If I were stranded and allowed to have only one product, this one would definitely be it.

Bumble and Bumble Hair Powder

I'm talking major life saver people. No matter how much of a mess your hair is, how dirty it is, whatever the case may be, this dry shampoo is the perfect re-vamp. It takes your hair from greasy to fab in 2.5.  It also adds texture and body, and is perfect right before you tease your hair, for extra added volume. It is also a great tool to keep your blowout fresh and is perfect for 'day 2 hair'.  This product saves me so much time and adds some 'umph' to every style! It comes in every color and is slightly tinted to match your hair! You can purchase it here!

Hosting a Low Country Boil

My Mom has some dear friends in visiting this weekend. Last night we enjoyed a delicious Low Country Boil, cornbread, cocktails and games! It was such a fun night. A Low Country boil is the perfect option for entertaining and is easy to prepare for a large crowd! Here's how..

Fill turkey fryer about 2/3 full of water. Bring to a boil and add 2 pkgs of Zatarain’s Crawfish, Shrimp and Crab Boil in a Bag, 1/4 – 1/2 bottle Zatarain’s Shrimp and Crab oil, 1 cup of salt and garlic. Boil for 15 minutes.

Add potatoes, boil for 7-8 minutes. Corn goes in next for 5 minutes (if corn is frozen you might need to turn up the heat for a minute to get your water boiling again). Add kielbasa, cook for 8 minutes. Squeeze lemon juice into pot and then toss the lemons into the water, boil 3- 4 minutes. Add shrimp and cook 5 minutes or just until shrimp turns pink.

Turn off the heat, immediately pull basket from the water and let drain. (If you want things a bit spicier, turn off the heat, put in a small bag of ice, let sit 15 minutes, then drain and serve). Cover the table in newspaper and pour contents of basket onto your freezer paper covered table.

Serve with sliced baguette (or cornbread muffins like we did!) sprinkled down the table and melted butter, cocktail sauce and hot sauce. Remember, traditionally there are NO knives, forks, spoons or plates allowed! It is all finger food and condiments are squeezed directly onto the table! When finished just roll up the paper!

This is perfect for Summer Entertaining, a Graduation Party, or even a Summer Engagement Party. Enjoy!

Shabby Nautical Perfection

Absolutely loving the look of this Shabby Chic and Nautical combo. The detail is just exquisite and the look is bold, but so charming.

"Beside the Seaside, we fell in love"

Check out the large oyster shell centerpiece against the navy stripe, so precious!

Love the turquoise peaking out underneath.

Throw pillows are perfect for spicing up some seating. Love that bouquet!
It combines the Shabby look so well!

Beautiful boutineer, brings in all of the colors and is beautiful against the khaki and navy!

I should have been a wedding planner.

Beau Attire

It's that time of year, where it seems events run back to back...Easter, Carolina Cup, fraternity formals, sorority formals, Garden Party, Summer weddings, the list goes on...

Us females run around like crazy women trying to find the perfect floppy hat, summer sun dress, or accessory. But sometimes the best accessory, isn't the bracelet on your arm, its the boy on it. I love men's wear, especially around Spring and Summer, when the pastels come out to play! The great thing about men's wear how much room there is to play and mix colors and patterns through ties, bow ties, button downs, pants, belts, jackets, and pocket squares.

Dare to be bold, beau!

Brunch Basics

Tomorrow, we decided to do an Easter Brunch at my Mom's new beach abode after church. I'm excited for us to cook and entertain, instead of just getting reservations somewhere. The bloodies and mimosas will sure to be flowing, accompanied by some delicious food. Here are some ways to spruce up your brunch spread Easter morning....

In preparation for tomorrows brunch, I made Buttermilk Rosemary Cheddar Biscuits today that turned out absolutely fantastic! Here is the recipe...

Buttermilk Rosemary Cheddar Biscuits
6 tablespoons butter, cut into cubes plus 2 tablespoons butter (for later)
2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon baking powder
1/2 teaspoon baking soda
1/2 teaspoon salt
1 tablespoon chopped rosemary
3/4 cup cheddar
3/4 cup buttermilk

Preheat the oven to 450.
Combine the flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt in a bowl. Add in the butter and with a pastry cutter or fork, cut the butter into the flour mixture until they butter is the size of a pea. Add in the rosemary and cheddar and mix well to incorporate. Make a well in the dry ingredients, pour in the buttermilk and mix until just combined. Form biscuits about 2 inches in diameter and place on a lined baking sheet.
Melt the reserved 2 tablespoons of butter and generously brush over the biscuits. Place in the oven and bake for 12 – 15 minutes, until the biscuits are golden brown.

Here's how mine turned out, they're absolutely delicious!

Easter Egg Fashion

Believe it or not, but this season, Easter Eggs are the perfect inspiration for your Spring wardrobe. Light, airy colors and patterns are sure to brighten your spirits and have made for an excellent trend. I'm even thinking about ditching the cliche Easter Dress trend this Sunday and swapping it for some pressed pastel capris or a pencil skirt! Here are some Easter Egg inspired looks that I'm loving...

Keep it light and be creative....think Easter Egg!
